Sundance Equine Assisted TherapiesSundance Equine Assisted Therapies is  dedicated to improving the health and  quality of life for children and adults  living with disabilities using therapeutic  equestrian activities.

SEAT provides individualized equine related therapeutic activities to people with physical, developmental, social, and emotional disabilities in the Brazos Valley and the surrounding counties.

Sundance equine Assisted Therapies enriches the lives of our clients in acaring, safe, and challenging environment that will enable them to reach their highest potential. Equine movement provides multidimensional movement, which is variable, rhythmic and repetitive. The horse provides a dynamic case of support, making it an excellent tool for increasing trunk strength and control, balance, building overall postural strength and endurance, addressing weight bearing, and motor planning. Equine movement offers a sensory input to all of our nerve channels.  During gait transitions, the rider must perform subtle adjustments in the trunk to maintain a stable position. When a rider is sitting forward on he horse, the horse's walking gait imparts movement responses similar to the normal human gait. The effects of equine movement on posture, sensory systems, and motor development can be used to facilitate coordination and timing, respiratory control, sensory skills and attention skills. Equine movement can be used to facilitate the systems that support all of our daily living skills.

By moving the riders body in a manner similar to the human gait, therapeutic riding helps children and adults with a wide range of disabilities gain strength, confidence and sense of belonging. Sundance Equine Assisted Therapies is dedicated to bring help and hope to those who need it most.
